Hidden Cost - no Optical Surround Sound Port
I like my 360 but having bought one of these I am very disappointed that there is no means in the box to allow you to connect it to a surround sound amp.
I've knocked 2 stars off because of this.
If you are using hdmi for your picture then the only way to get surround sound via an optical cable is to buy an xbox 360 hdmi cable. This comes with a box that allows you to connect a TOSLink cable. As I already have an HDMI cable, I object to having to pay £30 for something that should be included in the box.
As the Xbox 360 Elite comes with this adaptor, the difference between the two models is not as large as it initially seems. Not sure if the adaptor comes with the Pro model.
The other option is to buy a non HDMI cable that includes the adaptor. This is a cheaper option but half of the benefit of the HDMI cable is that it should reduce the number of cables behind your TV, not add to them.
Better Than The Pro
The arcade is better than the core and comes with a 256mb memory card which is enough to save games and if your not going online then this the console for you. If you do need a bit more space you can buy a memory card 64mb, 256mb or 512mb or just get a hard drive from £50 which is 20gb or £100 for the 120gb (in my mind to much memory). Also dont worry about the red ring of death if you keep your 360 in a well ventilated area and give it breaks when it gets hot you wont have to worry.

All in all a very good console better than the PS3 which i also have so enjoy your gaming.
